A Busy Mom's Cookbook

What mom isn't busy, right? Between playing with kids, household chores, errands, playing taxi, church activities, sports, school, homework, and for some, working outside of the home, there never seems to be enough time in the day. I don't know about you, but something that plagued me for years was dinner.

There were days when I didn't think about it until 4:00pm and by then it was too late to thaw anything. Other days, I would lay something out like chicken and have no clue what to do with it. Then there are days (most days), that I don't have time to make an elaborate meal.

Going through cookbooks and even searching the Internet for recipes has always proven to be really frustrating, time consuming, and most of the time fruitless as the recipe would be really complicated, require lots of ingredients, and/or not turn out like the picture.

Over time I have come up with some tried-and-true recipes that my family loves, are not super expensive or complicated to make, and are generally pretty healthy. I have shared many on this site and enjoy doing so because I know that I always love to find a recipe that a real mom (not June Cleaver) has made and fed her family and gotten rave reviews over.

The idea has come to me that I should get recipes from other moms and compile a cookbook. The theme (or title) would be Real Moms' Tried-and-True Recipes. I would love to get as many as possible, type them up, and get the cookbook bound for people to purchase.

I WOULD NOT MAKE ANY PROFIT OFF OF THE COOKBOOKS. I would simply sell them for the cost of printing, binding, and shipping if required. I know I would love this and I feel others would as well.

If you are interested in this idea, please comment and/or email me at ashley-webber@hotmail.com. Let me know if you are interested in sharing recipes and/or interested in purchasing a cookbook.

:)

  1. Interested! I'd have to do some thinking and rounding up of recipes (even writing some down and coming up with measurements since some I just throw together) so let me know when you start compiling and give me plenty of a head start on a deadline!
