Valentine's Day Gifts

I know that most of what you see on this blog is cleaning, cooking, laundry, organizing, and couponing, but that is just the logistics of my home. The heart of my home is to create an atmosphere that my family (especially my children) can create great memories. One of my favorite ways to make memories is by making holidays, even the little ones, special for everyone.

I like to cook special meals, give out treats, bake and decorate cookies, do crafts, and give small gifts. You can do all of these things without breaking the bank. I will be posting more on meals, treats, cookies, and crafts closer to or on Valentine's Day, but I thought I would share my gift idea for Luke (my 4 year old son) now, so if you like the ideas, you can get them before the holiday.

One of my favorite stores in the world is Target and one of my favorite spots in Target is The Dollar Spot. It's an area on one side of the store right as you walk in that has lots of small toys and other miscellaneous items for $1.00 - $2.50. I love that they usually have things related to the upcoming holiday.

Here's what I got for Valentine's Day for Luke:

- A cute gift bag (you can hardly find a plain gift bag for $1.00, so this is a great deal)
- A big heart-shaped lollipop
- A small box of jelly beans
- A Toy Story notebook
- Some Toy Story double-sided crayons to go with the notebook
All of this cost me $5.00 plus tax, but the excitement and happiness on his face Valentine's Day, and hopefully the memories these things will create for him, are priceless.
They had a ton of stuff for boys and girls of all ages there today. I would go before things get picked over. I hope this helps :)
